Review Expert vs Appfigures
14-day free trial · cancel anytime
TL;DR
- Different products: Appfigures covers sales, downloads, ads, ASO and market estimates, with reviews as one module. Review Expert is only about reviews.
- Review Expert goes deeper on review workflow: a shared inbox, replies from any role, and Slack, Linear, Microsoft Teams, Zendesk and webhook routing with rating and keyword filters.
- Appfigures is cheaper to start: it has a free tier and paid plans from $9.99/mo. Review Expert starts at $39/mo billed annually, with 5 team members.
- Agents: Appfigures has a working local MCP server and public API. Review Expert's MCP server is early access.
Who should pick which
- You want downloads, revenue, sales and ad analytics in the same place as your reviews.
- You do ASO and want keyword tools and competitor or market estimates.
- You want a free or very low-cost plan and reviews are not your main workflow.
- You want a public API or a local MCP server you can run today.
- Reviews are a team workflow: support replies, product watches trends, engineering gets bug reports in Linear.
- You want per-destination filters (min rating, max rating, keywords) across Slack, Linear, Microsoft Teams, Zendesk and webhooks.
- You want Google Play review history beyond 7 days (up to 36 months) backfilled from Play Console exports.
- You already have analytics elsewhere and only need a dedicated review tool.

Pricing as listed on vendors' public pages as of October 11, 2026; check their site for current pricing.
The two price lists are hard to compare directly because the products do different jobs. Appfigures' tiers add analytics, ASO and market-intelligence features as you go up, from a free Starter plan to Amplify at $1,399.99/mo. Review Expert's three plans differ only in apps (2, 4 or 10), team members (5, 15 or unlimited) and destinations.
A useful question: which Appfigures tier would you need just for the review features you use, and does it include enough seats and integrations for your team? Compare that with Review Expert Starter ($39/mo annual) or Pro ($119/mo annual).

Integrations and review sources
Appfigures lists email alerts, integrations and a public API, and tracks the App Store, Google Play and other stores. Check its site for the current list of review integrations and which plan includes them.
Review Expert connects the App Store and Google Play through official APIs with your own credentials, and syncs roughly every 5 minutes after the first history sync. Its destinations exist specifically for review work: Slack, Linear, Microsoft Teams, Zendesk and webhooks, by plan, each with rating and keyword filters. Zapier and more sources are coming soon.
AI features and MCP
Appfigures lists review sentiment and AI features in its ASO tools. Review Expert's sentiment is based on star rating today. NLP sentiment, topic extraction and AI reply drafts are coming soon.
Appfigures' MCP server is live. It runs locally through the Appfigures CLI with an API key, and its tools can list, break down and reply to reviews (Appfigures MCP announcement). Review Expert's MCP server is early access, not live. The plan is a remote server (nothing to install) with read-only review tools. See /mcp and the planned docs.
Where Appfigures is stronger
Appfigures is a good product, and in several areas it does more than Review Expert does today:
- Sales, revenue, downloads and ad analytics alongside reviews
- ASO tooling and competitor/market estimates
- A free tier and low-cost entry plans
- A public API and a working (local) MCP server
If you need app analytics anyway, Appfigures may already cover enough of your review monitoring. Review Expert is worth adding when reviews need to reach several people and tools.
For balance, here is what some public reviews and pricing trackers mention about Appfigures:
- Review management is secondary to analytics and ASO
- Market estimates are directional; some users report limited ad-network coverage (Capterra)
How to switch from Appfigures to Review Expert
- 1
Start a 14-day free trial
Pick the plan that matches your app count and the destinations you need (Slack and Linear on Starter, Microsoft Teams and Zendesk on Pro, webhooks on Enterprise). You can change plans or cancel anytime. See pricing. - 2
Connect your App Store app
In App Store Connect, create an API key under Users and Access → Integrations and note the Issuer ID, Key ID and the .p8 private key (Apple lets you download it once). Add it in Review Expert under Apps & Businesses. Review Expert syncs your review history through the official App Store Connect API, then checks for new reviews roughly every 5 minutes. - 3
Connect Google Play and your review exports
Connect a Google Play service account for the Developer API. Because that API only returns reviews from about the last week, also point Review Expert at the Play Console review CSV exports in Google Cloud Storage so it can backfill older history. There is no import tool for Appfigures data: your history comes straight from Apple and Google. - 4
Recreate your routing as destinations
In the Review Expert dashboard, open Automation, choose Manage destinations (or Add destination), click Connect next to Slack, Linear, Microsoft Teams or Zendesk and approve access. For webhooks, paste your HTTPS URL. Add minimum rating, maximum rating and keyword filters to mirror the alerts you had in Appfigures. - 5
Invite your team with roles
Under Team, invite colleagues as owner, admin or reviewer. Owners and admins manage apps, destinations and automations; everyone can read and reply to reviews. - 6
Run both tools in parallel for a week
Keep Appfigures running while you compare: check that the reviews you expect show up, that your filters send the right ones to the right channels, and that your team is comfortable replying from Review Expert. - 7
Cancel Appfigures
Once you are happy, export anything you want to keep from Appfigures (check their documentation for what they allow) and cancel your subscription there.
