Best app review management tools in 2026 (honest comparison)

An honest comparison of 9 app review management tools for App Store and Google Play: who each suits, strengths, limits and dated pricing, by Review Expert.

Review Expert team9 min read

Disclosure: this comparison was written by the team behind Review Expert, which is one of the nine products listed. We have tried to be fair: every tool below is described from its public pages, prices are dated and linked, and we list Review Expert's own limits as plainly as everyone else's. Several of these tools do things we don't, and we say so.

"App review management" covers several different jobs: getting App Store and Google Play reviews in front of the right people, replying to them, analysing what users complain about, and (for some suites) optimizing store listings. No single tool is the best at all of them, so this guide groups products by the job they do best and ends with a short checklist for choosing.

Review Expert: reviews routed into your team's tools

Who it's for: small and mid-sized mobile teams (product managers, support leads, indie studios, agencies) who want App Store and Google Play reviews to show up in Slack, Linear, Microsoft Teams or Zendesk, and want to reply from one place, without paying for an ASO suite.

Key strengths

  • Official App Store Connect and Google Play Developer API sync: an initial history sync, then incremental syncs roughly every 5 minutes.
  • Google Play history beyond 7 days: Review Expert backfills up to 36 months of older reviews from Play Console's review CSV exports in Google Cloud Storage, beyond the API's one-week window (how that works).
  • Replies are posted back to both stores (create or update), and every team role can reply.
  • Routing to Slack and Linear from Starter, Microsoft Teams and Zendesk from Pro, and webhooks on Enterprise, with min/max rating and keyword filters.
  • Team seats included on every plan (5, 15 or unlimited members) with owner, admin and reviewer roles.
  • Dashboards: review volume and growth, average rating, rating distribution, reviews over time and by platform, response rate and average response time.

Limits (today)

  • Only two sources: App Store and Google Play. Google Maps, Yelp, Amazon and others are coming soon.
  • No live AI reply drafts, auto-reply rules or NLP. Sentiment is derived from the star rating (4–5 positive, 3 neutral, 1–2 negative); NLP sentiment and topic extraction are coming soon.
  • No ASO, keyword rankings or competitor tracking.
  • No MCP server or public API yet. Both are in early access with a waitlist.
  • No free plan (there is a 14-day free trial), no SSO and no security certifications.

Pricing (as of October 11, 2026)

  • Starter: $49/mo, or $39/mo billed annually (2 apps, 5 team members, Slack & Linear)
  • Pro: $149/mo, or $119/mo billed annually (4 apps, 15 members, + Microsoft Teams & Zendesk)
  • Enterprise: $399/mo, or $319/mo billed annually (10 apps, unlimited members, + webhooks)

How to choose an app review management tool

Start from the job, not the feature list. A few questions narrow it down quickly:

  1. Where should reviews end up? If the answer is "in Slack", an alert bot may be enough. If reviews need to become Linear issues or Zendesk tickets with filters, look at which plan unlocks those destinations. With some suites that is a $129+/mo plan.
  2. Which sources do you need? App Store and Google Play only, or also Steam, Reddit, Trustpilot or the Microsoft Store? Only the larger suites cover the long tail.
  3. Do you need AI today? If you want AI reply drafts, auto-replies or NLP topic analysis right now, AppFollow, Appbot, AppTweak, Reply Argus or MobileAction offer them. Review Expert does not yet.
  4. How many people need access? Seat limits matter. Appbot's Small plan is 1 user and AppTweak's ASO tiers include 1 seat each, while Review Expert includes 5 members on Starter.
  5. Do you need full Google Play history? The Play Developer API only returns recent reviews, so check whether a tool can import older history from Play Console exports.
  6. Do you need ASO or market data? If yes, AppTweak, Appfigures, AppFollow or MobileAction will serve you better than a reviews-only tool.
  7. Will AI agents use the data? AppFollow, Appbot, AppTweak and Appfigures have MCP servers today. See our guide to analyzing app reviews with AI agents.

Quick picks

  • Cheapest Slack alerts for one app: ReviewBot.
  • Deepest review analytics: Appbot.
  • Most sources and AI replies in one suite: AppFollow.
  • ASO first, reviews second: AppTweak, Appfigures or MobileAction.
  • AI reply drafts on a budget: Reply Argus.
  • Reviews routed to Slack, Linear, Teams or Zendesk with seats included and Google Play history beyond 7 days: Review Expert.

How we put this list together

We looked at each vendor's public pricing, feature and documentation pages on October 11, 2026, plus public review-site summaries for commonly reported drawbacks, which we attribute rather than treat as fact. We did not run benchmarks, and we have not included ratings or user counts because we can't verify them.

Larger enterprise feedback platforms (Sensor Tower, Unwrap, Enterpret, Chattermill) and SDK-based tools (Luciq, Alchemer Mobile, Gleap) are left out. They solve different problems at different price points.

Pricing as listed on vendors' public pages as of October 11, 2026; check their site for current pricing. If you spot an error, email hello@review.expert and we will correct it.

For head-to-head detail, see our comparison pages for AppFollow, Appbot, AppTweak, Appfigures and ReviewBot.
