Review Expert vs AppTweak

TL;DR
- AppTweak is an ASO suite first: keyword research, rankings, creative and market intelligence, with reviews managed in a separate product.
- Its review AI is live: a Reviews Agent, AI topic tagging and multilingual reply suggestions, plus a live MCP server and REST API.
- Review Expert is priced by apps and seats, not replies: from $39/mo billed annually with 5 team members, versus AppTweak's reply-volume tiers and 1 seat per ASO tier.
- Review Expert's gaps: no ASO, rating-based sentiment for now, AI drafts coming soon, and MCP in early access.
Who should pick which
- ASO is a core part of your job: keyword research, rankings, creatives and market intelligence.
- You want AI topic tagging, multilingual AI reply suggestions or a Reviews Agent today.
- You reply in many languages across 100+ countries and want AI help with that.
- You want a live MCP server or REST API for AI agents now.
- You only need review management and don't want to buy and manage several separately billed products.
- Several people need access: 5 members on Starter, 15 on Pro, unlimited on Enterprise.
- You want pricing that doesn't depend on how many replies you send.
- You want reviews routed to Linear for engineering, or to Microsoft Teams, with rating and keyword filters.
- You want Google Play review history beyond 7 days (up to 36 months) from Play Console exports.

AppTweak sells several products separately. If you came for review management, the relevant line is the App Reviews Manager, priced in euros by reply volume (€99/mo for 500 replies, €299/mo for 1,500). ASO plans and API access are billed on top. ASO figures come from AppTweak's page and ASO Theory's pricing write-up.
Review Expert has one subscription that covers sync, replies, dashboards and destinations. Plans differ by apps (2, 4 or 10), members (5, 15 or unlimited) and destinations (Slack and Linear on Starter, plus Microsoft Teams and Zendesk on Pro, plus webhooks on Enterprise).

Integrations and review sources
AppTweak's Reviews Manager covers the App Store and Google Play across 100+ countries and lists Slack, Zendesk and other integrations.
Review Expert covers the App Store and Google Play through official APIs with your own credentials, including the territory of App Store reviews. Destinations are Slack, Linear, Microsoft Teams, Zendesk and webhooks by plan, each with minimum rating, maximum rating and keyword filters. Zapier and more review sources are coming soon.
AI features and MCP
AppTweak's review AI is live: a Reviews Agent for chatting with your reviews, AI topic tagging and multilingual AI reply suggestions. Review Expert's sentiment is based on star rating today, and AI reply drafts, NLP sentiment and topic extraction are coming soon.
AppTweak's MCP server is live, with API-key and credit-metered access and an OAuth option (AppTweak MCP docs). Review Expert's MCP server is early access, not live. It is planned as a remote server with read-only review tools. See /mcp.
Where AppTweak is stronger
AppTweak is a good product, and in several areas it does more than Review Expert does today:
- Full ASO suite: keyword research, rankings, creative and market intelligence
- AI topic tagging, multilingual AI reply suggestions and a Reviews Agent are live
- A live MCP server and REST API
For balance, here is what some public reviews and pricing trackers mention about AppTweak:
- Several separately billed products; ASO tiers include 1 seat each
- Some reviewers mention cost and support issues (SelectHub, SoftwareAdvice)
How to switch from AppTweak to Review Expert
- 1
Start a 14-day free trial
Pick the plan that matches your app count and the destinations you need (Slack and Linear on Starter, Microsoft Teams and Zendesk on Pro, webhooks on Enterprise). You can change plans or cancel anytime. See pricing. - 2
Connect your App Store app
In App Store Connect, create an API key under Users and Access → Integrations and note the Issuer ID, Key ID and the .p8 private key (Apple lets you download it once). Add it in Review Expert under Apps & Businesses. Review Expert syncs your review history through the official App Store Connect API, then checks for new reviews roughly every 5 minutes. - 3
Connect Google Play and your review exports
Connect a Google Play service account for the Developer API. Because that API only returns reviews from about the last week, also point Review Expert at the Play Console review CSV exports in Google Cloud Storage so it can backfill older history. There is no import tool for AppTweak data: your history comes straight from Apple and Google. - 4
Recreate your routing as destinations
In the Review Expert dashboard, open Automation, choose Manage destinations (or Add destination), click Connect next to Slack, Linear, Microsoft Teams or Zendesk and approve access. For webhooks, paste your HTTPS URL. Add minimum rating, maximum rating and keyword filters to mirror the alerts you had in AppTweak. - 5
Invite your team with roles
Under Team, invite colleagues as owner, admin or reviewer. Owners and admins manage apps, destinations and automations; everyone can read and reply to reviews. - 6
Run both tools in parallel for a week
Keep AppTweak running while you compare: check that the reviews you expect show up, that your filters send the right ones to the right channels, and that your team is comfortable replying from Review Expert. - 7
Cancel AppTweak
Once you are happy, export anything you want to keep from AppTweak (check their documentation for what they allow) and cancel your subscription there.
