Send App Store and Google Play reviews to Slack

Review Expert posts new app reviews into the Slack channels your team already reads. Filter by star rating and keywords so #support sees complaints, engineering sees crash reports, and nobody has to check two store consoles.

What the Slack integration does

Once connected, every new review that matches your filters becomes a Slack message in the channel you chose.
App reviews in the channel
Reviews from the App Store and Google Play arrive as messages with the reviewer name, star rating, review text, store and app.
Filtered by rating
Set a minimum and maximum star rating per destination, for example only 1 to 2 star reviews.
Reply from Review Expert
Each message links back to the review so you can reply and have the response posted to the store.

Set up Slack in a few minutes

  1. 1

    Connect your apps

Under Apps & Businesses, add your App Store app (with an App Store Connect API key) and/or your Google Play app (with a service account). See the App Store and Google Play source guides.
  2. 2

    Add Slack as a destination

In the Review Expert dashboard, open Automation, choose Manage destinations (or Add destination) and click Connect next to Slack.
  3. 3

    Pick a channel and approve

A Slack window opens. Choose the workspace if you have more than one, select the channel that should receive reviews, and click Allow.
  4. 4

    Set filters

Choose the minimum and maximum star rating and add keywords if you only want certain reviews. Leave them empty to post every review.

Filters, with examples

Every Slack destination has three optional filters. A review is posted only if it passes all of the ones you set:

  • Minimum rating and maximum rating (inclusive). Min 1, max 2 sends only 1 and 2 star reviews.
  • Keywords. The review text must contain at least one keyword. Matching ignores case and also matches inside longer words, so crash matches "crashes" and "crashing". Reviews without text are skipped when keywords are set.

Common Slack setups

  • #support: min 1, max 2, no keywords. Every negative review lands where support can pick it up.
  • #mobile-bugs: any rating, keywords crash, freeze, login, error.
  • #wins: min 5, max 5. Share happy reviews with the whole company.
  • #app-reviews: no filters. A complete feed for whoever owns the app.

Since the last update the app crashes every time I open the camera screen. Please fix, I use this daily.
