How the app review tool market splits
“App review tool” covers very different products. Most fall into one of three groups:
- Review and ASO suites such as AppFollow, Appbot, AppTweak and Appfigures. They offer many features: AI replies, NLP sentiment and topics, ASO and keyword tools, market estimates, and often many review sources. They suit larger teams with a dedicated app marketing or review-ops function, and the price usually rises with each feature tier.
- Lightweight alert bots such as ReviewBot. They post new reviews to Slack or a similar tool and cost very little to start. They suit a single app and a single channel, but offer little analytics or collaboration.
- Enterprise feedback analytics such as Sensor Tower, Unwrap, Enterpret and Chattermill. They combine app reviews with support tickets, surveys and market data under annual contracts, and suit large organizations.
Review Expert sits between the suites and the bots. It covers the App Store and Google Play, with Google Play history beyond 7 days (up to 36 months) from Play Console exports, replies posted back to the stores, dashboards, team roles, and routing to Slack, Linear, Microsoft Teams, Zendesk and webhooks with rating and keyword filters. Plans start at $39/mo billed annually and include 5 team members. It does not offer ASO, NLP sentiment or AI reply drafts today (the last two are coming soon), and its MCP server is in early access.

How we write these comparisons
Each page lists the competitor's pricing as published on its own site (or a named third-party tracker) on a specific date, with links so you can check. Where we could not confirm a feature from public pages, we write “Not stated” rather than claim it is missing. Drawbacks are attributed to their source, such as G2, Capterra or a pricing tracker.
Each page also has a “where they are stronger” section, because every tool here does something better than Review Expert. Our own unreleased features are labeled “Coming soon” or “Early access”. If something is out of date, email hello@review.expert and we will fix it. Vendors' own sites, for example AppFollow or Appbot, are the source of truth for their products.
