App review webhooks: send reviews to your own systems
When Slack or Zendesk isn't where the review needs to go, use a webhook. Review Expert sends each matching App Store and Google Play review as JSON to your HTTPS endpoint, so you can feed a data warehouse, an internal tool, or an automation of your own.

What app review webhooks do
A webhook destination posts a JSON body to your URL for every review that passes its filters.
Plain JSON over HTTPS
One POST per matching review with the review, its rating and text, and the app it came from.
Same filters as every destination
Minimum rating, maximum rating and keywords decide which reviews are sent.
Your pipeline, your rules
Store reviews, enrich them, or trigger internal workflows that native integrations don't cover.
Set up a webhook
- 1
Connect your apps
Add App Store and Google Play apps under Apps & Businesses. Review Expert imports history, then checks for new reviews roughly every 5 minutes. - 2
Deploy a receiver
Create an HTTPS endpoint that accepts POST requests with a JSON body and responds with a 2xx status. - 3
Add the webhook destination
In the Review Expert dashboard, open Automation, choose Manage destinations (or Add destination), choose Webhook and paste your HTTPS URL. - 4
Set filters
Choose a rating range and keywords, or leave them empty to receive every review from your connected apps.

Tips for building a receiver
Respond 2xx quickly
Acknowledge the request as soon as you have stored it, then do slow work (API calls, enrichment) in a background job.
Be idempotent on review.id
If the same review arrives twice, upsert by review.id instead of inserting a duplicate row or ticket.
HTTPS only, hard-to-guess URL
Use HTTPS, include a long random token in the path, and validate the JSON shape before trusting it.
Tolerate change
Ignore fields you don't know and handle null values so new fields don't break your code.
Filter examples
- Data warehouse feed: no filters, so every review is stored for your own analysis.
- On-call alert: keywords
crash, can't log in,down, sent to an internal service that pages the mobile team. - CRM enrichment: min 1, max 2, forwarded to an internal tool that flags accounts at risk.

Frequently asked questions
A webhook is an HTTPS POST that Review Expert sends to a URL you control. For each App Store or Google Play review that matches your filters, the request body is a JSON object describing the review and the app it belongs to.
Custom webhooks are part of the Enterprise plan: $399 per month, or $319 per month billed annually, with 10 apps and unlimited team members. Enterprise has a 14-day free trial like every plan.
We don't currently document a signature scheme you can rely on. Use an unguessable HTTPS URL, validate the payload shape, and treat incoming data as untrusted until you have checked it. Contact hello@review.expert if you need a specific verification method.
Yes. Each webhook destination supports a minimum rating, maximum rating and keywords, the same filters as Slack, Linear, Teams and Zendesk. Leave them empty to receive every review.
Not yet. A public API and an MCP server for AI agents are in early access with a waitlist. Webhooks are the way to push reviews into your own systems today.
The example on this page reflects the current shape, but fields may change as the integration evolves. Write your receiver to ignore unknown fields and to handle missing optional values such as content, author_name or url.
