What works today
Posted back to the store
Replies go out through the App Store Connect API and the Google Play Developer API, and show up as your developer response.
Edit existing replies
Update a response after you ship a fix. Replies posted earlier in either console are imported, so you can edit those too.
Every role can reply
Owners, admins and reviewers can all respond, so support can work the queue without admin access.
Store limits in mind
Google Play caps replies at 350 characters; App Store responses can be about 6,000. Write for the shorter one if you reuse text.

How to reply to app store reviews in Review Expert
- 1
Find the review
Open the reviews table and filter by rating, platform or date. Start with recent 1- and 2-star reviews; they matter most to people deciding whether to install. - 2
Write your reply
Thank the user, address the specific problem, and say what happens next. Keep Google Play replies under 350 characters. - 3
Send it
Review Expert posts the reply to the App Store or Google Play. It appears in the review table as answered and counts toward your response rate. - 4
Follow up when it is fixed
Edit the reply when the fix ships. On the App Store, the user is notified of your response and can update their review.
Why replying to reviews is worth the time
A reply is public. Everyone reading your listing sees how you handle a bad experience, not only the person who left the review. Apple says developer responses let you address feedback directly, and that users are notified and may update their review (see Apple's ratings and reviews guidance). Google documents the reply API and its 350-character limit in Reply to reviews.
The hard part is not writing one reply. It is keeping up with two stores, several apps and a team that shares the work. That is what Review Expert is for:
- One queue for both stores instead of two consoles.
- Reviews routed to Slack or Zendesk so the right person sees them.
- Response rate and average response time so you know whether the queue is under control.
What makes a good reply
- Be specific. Mention the feature or bug. “Thanks for the feedback” on its own reads like a bot.
- Give a next step. A support email, a version number with the fix, or a setting to try.
- Don't argue. Other users read the thread, and a calm reply reads better than a correction.
- Come back. Updating a reply after a fix shows you followed through.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. When you send a reply in Review Expert, it is posted through the official App Store Connect API or Google Play Developer API and appears as your developer response on the store listing. Stores may take a little while to show it publicly.
Yes. Open the review, change the reply and send it again; Review Expert updates the existing response in the store. This also works for replies you originally posted in App Store Connect or Play Console, since those are imported during sync.
Everyone. Owners, admins and reviewers can all reply to reviews. Only owners and admins manage apps, destinations and automation.
Google Play limits developer replies to 350 characters. Apple allows much longer App Store responses (about 6,000 characters), but short, specific replies work better in both stores.
Not yet. AI reply drafts and auto-reply rules are coming soon. Today every reply is written by a person on your team. We would rather tell you that than ship drafts that sound generic.
On the App Store, Apple notifies the user when you respond, and they can choose to update their review. Google Play handles notifications on its side. Review Expert does not send any extra messages to reviewers.
