Import Google Play review history
The Google Play Developer API only returns recent reviews (about a week). Review Expert fills in the rest from the monthly review reports that Play Console writes to Google Cloud Storage, up to 36 months back.
What you need
- 1
The Google Play connection
Finish Connect Google Play. History uses the same service account; there is nothing extra to upload. - 2
Cloud Storage APIs enabled
Google Cloud Storage and the Google Cloud Storage JSON API must be enabled in the service account's project. - 3
Bulk report access
In Play Console, the service account needs View app information and download bulk reports (read-only).
How the import works
- When you connect the app, Review Expert finds your Play Console reports bucket (named pubsite_prod_ followed by your developer ID).
- It reads the monthly review report files for the app, newest first, for up to 36 months.
- Reviews from the reports and from the API are merged, so a review is stored once. Existing developer replies are imported too.
- After the first import, new reviews come from the API about every 5 minutes.
Reports only exist for months in which Play Console generated them, so a new app has less history.
