Keyword and topic analysis for app reviews
What works today: keyword routing
Every destination in Review Expert can filter reviews by keyword, as well as by minimum and maximum rating. That is enough to send the right reviews to the right team without anyone reading every review first. In the Review Expert dashboard, open Automation, choose Manage destinations (or Add destination), click Connect next to the tool and approve access, then add your keywords.
Some setups that work well:
- Bugs to engineering: keywords like “crash”, “freeze”, “bug” and “error” with a maximum rating of 3, sent to Linear.
- Billing to support: “refund”, “charged” and “subscription” to Zendesk (Pro and up).
- Login problems: “login”, “password” and “sign in” to a Slack channel.
- Praise for the team: a minimum rating of 5 to a shared channel.
Keyword matching is literal and case-insensitive: “crash” also matches “Crashes”, but not synonyms such as “closes itself” or reviews in other languages. Add common variations, and check the review table now and then for issues your keywords miss.
What is coming
We are building automatic keyword and topic extraction, so recurring themes such as performance, pricing or a specific feature are grouped for you, along with text-based sentiment. It is not available yet, and we will not publish timelines or accuracy numbers until it ships.
